What is the breeding cycle range in elk cows? I always thought it was 20 days. My elk were AI bred on oct.4 and on the 18th(14 days later) two were observed acting awfully frisky and wanting the bull( the bull paid no attention). Hind ends were a little swollen and contracting. Could they be in heat this quickly after AI? They were both in very good heat at AI.
