recently hired by the North American Elk Breeders Association as an interim Director of Operations
and Information Services. While new to the elk industry, Rob has lots of experience with private
sector and livestock organizations and NAEBA is hopeful that he can help to successfully steer them
through some troubled waters in the coming months.
"Every breed association has its problems and NAEBA is no different," says Rob.
"I've learned over the years that the problems cycle, with years of incredible progress and
then some backsliding, but that with each cycle a measure of the progress remains and the group
moves forward long-term."
At this point, Rob has identified three major goals for his time with NAEBA:
- Support the NAEBA staff and promote a healing atmosphere
- Ensure good accounting practices for the organization
- Support the Board of Directors and encourage them to better align responsibilities while
thinking strategically long-term, so that they can add an increased measure of effective
policymaking.
